You know that saying “when life gives you lemons, make lemon aid”? I read an addition to that… “unless it hands you sugar too, it just stinks!”
I found that amusing. Luckily life has been giving me sugar!
Honestly, life hasn’t been too hard lately, we’ve had a few bumps, but we’re doing good.
The hubs is still with out work, He hasn’t found any one looking for drafting skills so other than unemployment there is no money coming in. Today he got his wisdom teeth out and is recovering from that.
The biggest bump for me right now seems to be more of an emotional bump than a physical one. Caylee has started going 3 hours between eating, and now that she’s five months we’re going to start adding some solid foods. The thing that is getting to me is sleep. Or lack there of.
Caylee has never slept though the night. Around 2.5 months she did sleep from 10pm until 4 or am for a couple weeks in a row, but that didn’t last long. Since then it’s just gotten worse. She was waking up 2 or 3 times between 10pm and 7am, but the last 4 or 5 nights she’s been waking up almost every hour. And it’s not really that she wants to eat. She’ll want to nurse, she’ll nurse for about 2 minutes then be asleep again. I’m not sure if it’s gas or what.
Add to that Lexi is on nap strike, so I haven’t been able to rest during the day. I’ve still been putting her in her crib, but normally Caylee’s awake so I can’t lay down. Caylee is also spoiled rotten and refuses to be put down.
Oh.. one more thing. I’m DYING for a milk shake. At first the no dairy thing was really hard, I craved chocolate, milk, cheese, ice cream, snickers bars… Then it got easier. I rarely crave dairy now. It helps that I realized I could eat oreos and most brownies. So when I REALLY need chocolate, I can have something. But… I really, really want a milk shake.
I guess I’m in a bit of a grumbly mood today, sorry! There are a few things that I am super excited about. Women’s Bible study starts back up in a few weeks. I can’t wait for that time with other women at the feet of Jesus. (Caylee and Lexi will BOTH be in the nursery, so I’ll have baby free time!it will be great!)
I’m also excited about July. My cousin is getting married, Lexi is going to be her flower girl. After the wedding we are having a family camping trip. We are hoping to have as many family members as we can join us, so far it’s my sisters and us. Hopefully my mom and some aunts or uncles will come too. I love spending time with my family.
One more thing… It snowed here! it actually stuck to the ground. of course, it only lasted about 3 minutes, but it was nice.
and yes… I know I still owe you pictures
